YOURSAY 'It's more surprising MCA can endure 'Cina babi' ... and still remain in BN.'
MCA: AG's insufficient evidence on Ali Tinju ‘surprising'
Shanandoah: One man decides to drop the charges because of insufficient evidence to prosecute, while thousands don't agree with him. There's surely something wrong with the attorney-general (AG).
Can he explain what further evidence he needs to prosecute Malay Armed Forces Veterans Association president Mohd Ali Baharom (Ali Tinju)?
Anonymous #03815719: Yes, the AG might have the prerogative, but to let one escape punishment is wrong. This is double standards. What has the Bar Council got to say?
Anonymous #523894157: Ali Tinju is guilty as charged. His anti-Chinese speech at Low Yat Plaza is all over the Internet.
Muhibbah: Indeed, the whole world could see and find sufficient evidence on the Internet except for Umno because a racist will not prosecute a racist.
Lonely MidnightSun: What is so surprising, MCA Youth leader Eric Choo? What is your president's comment? You are only a small fry.
Anonymous_1419577444: Choo, you must be new to MCA. Go ask your MCA senior leaders and they will tell you why it is not surprising at all.
They may also admonish you for this stupid remark, which will now invite a response from a Umno member to tell MCA to...
Katusha: MCA chief Liow Tiong Lai should not just urge but rather should demand that the AG review and revert his decision.
Anonymous$&@?: MCA doesn't even have the balls to "demand" but instead "urged" the AG to review his decision.
It just shows that MCA are nothing more than castrated eunuchs being used as window dressing for PM Najib Razak's cabinet.
Don't these MCA leaders feel shameful that they are of no use to the rakyat that they are supposed to represent? It’s not a surprise that MCA is being spitted upon by their kind.
6th Generation Immigrant: Ali Tinju made another seditious statement just prior to the red shirt gathering, and it is also in video.
He is a serial offender in seditious activities and yet no case has been made against him for any of his totally unacceptable statements.
MCA, you are a serial apologist by not leaving BN, which support such people as Ali Tinju.
Anonymous_1430119660: Now Ali will be braver to shoot his mouth in public. After all, he delivered a limp rally for Prime Minister Najib Razak's defence and it will be a case of "I scratch your back, you scratch mine".
If such a lackadaisical attitude persists, the public's view of the AG's Chambers will be at a new low.
BTN: Double standards as usual by Umno's standards. The more you wallop the Chinese, the more you become a hero. As expected, no action will be taken, they would only investigate.
Anonymous #19098644: Who removed the previous AG? Who placed the present AG in his chair?
Are facts and justice the only criteria or does being a lackey of a certain top politician matter? Will this man uphold justice or try to please his boss?
Hplooi: This is the same modus operandi that we have seen:
1) when no appeal was made in Abdul Razak Baginda's acquittal in the Altantuya Shaariibuu's murder case;
2) when Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali was not charged for sedition in the Bible-burning call and various cases of racial incitement despite clear evidence;
3) when key witnesses were not called in the Altantuya murder hearings;
4) when no case of criminal intimidation was concluded in the case of the death of a witness under Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) custody;
5) or the cases of police thugs without identification assaulting Bersih 3 detainees, etc.
Do you see a clear pattern? The one which takes the cake is the current multiple cases of criminal breach in the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion 'private account transfer' cases.
Smer: Is it really that surprising, MCA? Your bedfellow Umno has been abusing the system for years and you always turn a blind eye. Only now you show some response?
Is it just a token effort to try and show you are still somehow relevant? You would be better off finally admitting that BN has failed long ago.
Leave the coalition and think really hard on what you have to do to remain relevant. Stop relying on the glory days to justify your place in this country.
Anon1: It's also surprising how MCA can endure wave after wave of "Cina babi" and other racist insults, including being spat on by fellow cabinet ministers, and still remain in BN.
That's more surprising than the AG's decision, which is already accepted as a norm in Bolehland.
Carpe Diem: All that has transpired appears to be sanctioned at the highest level to divert attention.
Let's not let the sideshows take our eyes off the ball. We are in dire need of a clean and accountable government or we are doomed as a nation.
