Two protesters who allegedly stomped on the picture of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang have surrendered themselves at the Bukit Aman police headquarters this morning.
According to China Press , Kuala Lumpur CID chief Zainuddin Ahmad confirmed that the duo surrendered at 11am.
Police were seeking two individuals who were photographed stomping on a picture of Hadi and Najib embracing, during the Bersih 4 rally last weekend.
The case is being probed by the Bukit Aman's classified investigation Unit under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for intending to cause fear or alarm to the public.
According to Guang Ming Daily , a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man surrendered to the police.
They were later brought to IPD Dangi Wangi for their statements to be recorded, and were allowed to leave at 4.05pm.
The girl's father, who only wants to be known as Wong, said his daughter attended the rally with her friend without the knowledge of her parents.
He said their daughter did not stay overnight during the rally, and therefore, they were not aware of the incident until her photo was widely circulated on the Internet.
He also apologised for his daughter's behaviour.
