Bersih chief Maria Chin Abdullah and PKR lawmaker Sim Tze Sin will be charged next week under the Peaceful Assembly Act in connection with the Kita Lawan rally on March 28.
In a statement, Sim said Bersih secretariat member Mandeep Singh and Jingga 13 chief Faris Musa will also be charged under Section 4(2)(c).
"I condemn this desperate measure by Umno/BN to stop the people's right to assemble.
"I will not be afraid to champion the plight of the people, especially when they are suffering under the Najib administration, which is replete with scandals and the GST," Sim added.
Mandeep, meanwhile, was unfazed by the impending charge.
"We've been detained, remanded, investigated and now we're being dragged to court. Bring it on, Najib Abdul Razak and Rosmah Mansor," he posted on Facebook.
About 500 people had turned up for the March 28 protest (photo) which was held to 'celebrate' the wedding of Najib's daughter Nooryana Najwa held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The group had marched from Sogo but was stopped from reaching the wedding venue by a police barricade on Jalan Ampang.
There was no unruly incident during the protest.
News of the charge against the four comes almost a week after Bersih organised a successful two-day rally in downtown Kuala Lumpur, with up to 100,000 people showing up at its peak.
