Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim has admonished an Umno supreme council member for his comment that Johor Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar has no problem with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Tunku Ismail said Puad Zarkashi should not be making statements without being aware of what was really going on.
"Do not make any speculation as to whether there's a problem or not between (the sultan) and the prime minister, as only the sultan and I know the whole story of the said matter.
"As such, for the time being, only we need to know and there's no reason for it to be made public," the crown prince said on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page last night.
Tunku Ismail was responding to the assertion by Puad ( photo ) two days ago that all was well between Sultan Ibrahim and Najib.
"I had met with Najib recently and he told me there was no misunderstanding with the sultan," Puad was quoted as saying by mStar .
He said this when denying talk on the social media that the sultan did not view the prime minister favourably.
While the Johor sultan's thoughts on Najib are not public knowledge, the crown prince has been quite open with his, especially after slamming Najib's no show at the Nothing2Hide forum.
The Johor palace has also taken an interest in developments in Umno, after Najib axed Muhyiddin Yassin as his deputy prime minister.
Muhyiddin, who was former Johor menteri besar, was subsequently summoned for an audience with Sultan Ibrahim.
