The Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Lumpur today decided that a former model accused of a charge of public indecency is fit to stand trial.
Magistrate Nur’Aminahtul Mardiah Md Nor based her decision on the report issued by Hospital Tanjung Rambutan, where Persana Avril Sollunda, 33, had been referred to for mental observation.
The court has set three days from Jan 11 next year for trial.
Persana Avril allegedly stripped in public at a chicken rice shop in Jalan Petaling in Kuala Lumpur on April 23.
The charge under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of three months or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Noor Svetlana Mohd Noor Nordin prosecuted while the accused was represented by counsel Kelvin Tan.
