The leaked video of former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin showed that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has lost his integrity, said PAS' Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar.
He urged the rakyat to demand for fresh polls since the new cabinet appears to be conspiring to protect Najib from being prosecuted over the 1MDB scandal.
The cabinet reshuffle which witnessed Muhyiddin dropped as deputy prime minister has impacted the country's political and economic stability, Mahfuz added.
"The prime minister did not give a proper reason to oust him," he said.
Mahfuz ( photo ) said the difference in opinion mentioned by the prime minister was none other than the 1MDB issue, as Muhyiddin criticised the alleged RM2.6 billion deposited into Najib private bank accounts.
"Is there anything wrong for an Umno deputy president to tell the party's member when he spoke at the closing ceremony of Cheras Umno division meeting?" he asked.
Najib tried to hide the truth
Mahfuz noted that Najib ( photo ) had tried to hide the truth from the rakyat and Umno members, which is unfortunate and regrettable.
"What's wrong if Muhyiddin as a cabinet member speak out for the interest of nation and rakyat? What he raised was a matter of integrity.
"The country is about to fall and the rakyat have no choice but to demand that Parliament be dissolved for fresh polls," he said in a statement today.
In the leaked video clip Muhyiddin said Najib admitted to the allegation that US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) was deposited into his bank account.
"He admitted. So I said: Why did you put (it) into your personal account?" said Muhyiddin.
