PKR lawmaker Rafizi Ramli believes the police will swoop down on him and DAP MP Tony Pua soon with regard to the 1MDB issue.
He predicted the police would either question or detain the pair based on the "slander" in a video confession by former journalist Lester Melanyi.
Lester had implicated the two opposition MPs in a plot to smear Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and the alleged fabrication of documents related to 1MDB.
"From the first day this matter was spread, I said the allegation is part of an evil conspiracy to silence us - myself Pua, The Edge and Sarawak Report ," said Rafizi in a statement.
This morning, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said Lester's claims are being investigated under Section 124 of the Penal Code for activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.
The police are also investigating the statements by Swiss national Xavier Andre Justo under the same section.
Justo, a former PetroSaudi International employee, is under detention in Thailand for allegedly attempting to blackmail his ex-employer.
He is also accused of leaking confidential documents and email communications related to a joint venture between PSI and 1MDB
