BN strategic communication director Abdul Rahman Dahlan has lashed out at Rafizi Ramli over the latter's denial after being implicated in allegedly forging 1MDB-related documents.
Commenting on the PKR vice-president's description of the allegation as an "evil conspiracy", the minister dismissed this as “desperate”.
"This is probably the worst reply ever coming from you. Do better next time, and drop the demonising part. You look desperate," tweeted Abdul Rahman.
He also called it a "typical and predictable lame reply" from the PKR leader and questioned why Rafizi ( photo ) had demonised him when he was only the messenger.
"Why demonise me? Didn't you always preach 'don't kill the messenger, focus on the message!'," he tweeted.
Yesterday, Abdul Rahman had highlighted a police report which accused Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown of fabricating information based on a video confession by a Lester Melanyi and an email of her purportedly admitting to this.
In the video, Lester, who claimed to be a former Sarawak Report editor, alleged that Rewcastle had asked him to fabricate information for Sarawak Report and to do so according to what Rafizi and DAP parliamentarian Tony Pua wanted.
The video and email was obtained by pro-BN NGO leader Ramesh Rao, who lodged a police report and handed them to the authorities.
Rafizi, however, had said that Abdul Rahman, Ramesh and Lester all had vested interests and that he would initiate legal action on the matter soon.
"Abdul Rahman is known as a strong supporter of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak. As a junior politician who lost the Kota Belud Umno division chief post, he had gained many benefits from Najib until he was appointed as a minister.
"Of course he has vested interests to defend Najib in any way possible because if there is a new prime minister, there's a high possibility that he will be dropped from the cabinet and his political career will end," Rafizi had said.
Responding to this, Abdul Rahman said: "Don't lie. I never contested and lost the Kota Belud Umno division chief post. Check your facts."
Meanwhile, Rewcastle claimed that her email had been tampered and denied that Lester worked for Sarawak Report .
