PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli has dismissed a police report which implicates him in the alleged forging of documents related to 1MDB as an "evil conspiracy".
He also said his lawyers are now scrutinising the matter in order to take legal action against those who had made this allegation.
Rafizi also denied having met one Lester Melanyi, which the police report stated as a "former editor" of Sarawak Report .
"I have never met or communicated with Lester Melanyi. The first time I learnt of his existence is when (BN strategic communications director) Abdul Rahman Dahlan ( photo ) revealed the report.
"I have never given instructions to Sarawak Report or provided them with material to publish," he said in a statement.
Rafizi also denied communicating with Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown regarding 1MDB.
"Throughout my career, I only cooperated with Sarawak Report in one case, which is a logging scandal in Sabah," he said.
Rafizi said all his exposés on 1MDB were done independently and the police report claiming fabrication appeared to be an attempt to discredit allegations on 1MDB and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
"It is an evil conspiracy to cover up the 1MDB issue and give a picture that it is supposedly created by opposition leaders when most of the exposés by me and Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua were based on the finance minister's answers in Parliament.
"I am confident that this conspiracy will not succeed as the 1MDB scandal is too big and the facts too clear to cover up," he said.
Video confession
Yesterday, Abdul Rahman accused Brown of fabricating information based on a video confession by Lester and an email of her purportedly admitting to this.
The video and email was obtained by pro-BN NGO leader Ramesh Rao, who lodged a police report and handed them to the authorities.
In the video which had been uploaded on Friends of BN Facebook page, Lester claimed he was asked to fabricate information for Sarawak Report .
"1MDB plan was first told to me by Clare ( photo ) in January this year. She told me we had a very important mission this time for Anwar Ibrahim.
"She told me I had to do it according to what Tony Pua and Rafizi wanted," he said.
Brown claimed BN used tampered email to accuse her of fabrication, adding that Lester had also never worked for Sarawak Report and was only hired briefly for Radio Free Sarawak in 2011.
Rafizi said Abdul Rahman, Ramesh and Melanyi all have vested interests and he will initiate legal action on the matter soon.
