Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today urged Malaysians to stop spreading slander and hate during the final days of the holy month of Ramadan.
More so, he said, the last 10 nights of Ramadan, known as 'Lailatul Qadar', promise greater divine reward for good deeds.
"In this noble month of Ramadan, let us stop spreading slander and hatred and be consistent in performing worship on these final 10 nights," Najib says in an audio recording uploaded on his blog today.
He also urged Malaysians to seek forgiveness as this may be their last Lailatul Qadar .
"Ask that our sins will be forgiven and do our utmost to get blessing from this special night as it may be our last Lailatul Qadar ," he said.
Yesterday, Najib had a similar message in his speech at Salahuddin Al-Ayubi Mosque in Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur.
He then urged Malaysians not to believe " nonsense " about him that is being spread on social media.
This comes amid an investigation into allegations that US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) in public funds were deposited into Najib's personal bank accounts.
Najib has denied taking government funds for personal use.
