Abdul Hadi Awang and his backers have completed a clean sweep of the PAS elections, winning nearly all the central committee seats, while taking complete control of PAS Youth and muslimat wings.

Abdul Hadi crushed his challenger Ahmad Awang to retain the PAS presidency, securing 80 percent of the 1,160 votes cast.

His new deputy is Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man ( photo ), who secured 76 percent of the votes and ousted two-term deputy president Mohamad Sabu.

All three incumbent vice-presidents - Husam Musa, Salahuddin Ayub and Mahfuz Omar - were routed and replaced with Idris Ahmad, Nik Amar Abdullah and Iskandar Ab Samad.

As for the 18 central committee posts up for grabs, the only person on Abdul Hadi's ' chai ' who failed to secure a seat was Kamaruzaman Mohamad.

Instead, Mazlan Aliman is the only anomaly as he retained his his seat in the central committee. He ranked 14 in terms of number of votes secured.
