Former Malaysian defence attaché Muhammad Rizalman Ismail, who caused a diplomatic uproar, claimed trial at the New Zealand High Court today on charges of indecent assault.
He had earlier denied charges of assault with intent to rape and burglary.
His case is set for case management in August, reported One News , New Zealand.
Rizalman, 39, was arrested by the New Zealand authorities on May 10 last year, following the alleged attack at the victim's home in the Wellington suburb of Brooklyn.
However, following his release on bail, he managed to return home to Malaysia causing a diplomatic uproar .
His alleged victim then came out in public to denounce New Zealand and Malaysian authorities for allowing Rizalman to leave.
Rizalman was returned to the New Zealand authorities last October .
Following his return to New Zealand, he was remanded after he was charged at the district court but was granted bail a few days later.
