UPDATED JAN 4 Non-government organisations have initiated relief efforts as the floods deepen in six states.
With access limited even to rescue workers, groups have rallied the help of commercial helicopter service providers, commercial airlines and other cargo services to assist officials in delivering aid to victims as soon as possible.
These include budget airline Malindo Air - which helped humanitarians move boxes of medical supplies to Kelantan - and FireFly and AirAsia, which are working with NGOs to collect and transport aid.
