YOURSAY ‘Only the righteous get insulted, prosecuted for sedition, and spat upon.’
Angry mob insults, spits on PAS MP outside court
CQ Muar: Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, amongst the group of ill-bred Malay youths, you walked and stood tall. Who do you reckon deserves praise - those hooligans devoid of family upbringing or yourself as an educated and learned dignitary?
Don't despair, Khalid, we're all with you in thoughts and deeds. Whoever's behind instructing and encouraging those brainless sub-humans will incur the wrath of God the Almighty. Such uncouth behaviour reflects poorly (an understatement) on the race, unlike those moderate and kind Malays in our country.
Such demeanour only brings dishonour and disgrace to the police and the Umno-led government of a nation which they 'proudly' call ‘1Malaysia’. May God be with you, YB.
Anonymous_3faa: Only the righteous get insulted, prosecuted for sedition, and spat upon. Khalid is a towering man in both stature and respectability. Those goons should go to Gaza for a real baptism of fire.
David Dass: It is is ironic. Courts of justice are established to take disputes off the streets, to replace mobs and vigilante rule with a dispute resolution in accordance with the majesty of the law.
Combatants or disputants are required to engage a lawyer and take their grievance to the courts. That is how civilisation has evolved. Judges decide what was right and wrong, not mobs in the street.
What were the security people doing? Should ruffians get off so easily? Should they not face the full rigour of the law? Should they not face justice?
That this should have happened outside the courthouse is shameful. What kind of society are we becoming?
Gerard Lourdesamy: If Khalid is supposedly a traitor to the Malay race for simply advocating legislative reform of the powers of Mais (Selangor Islamic Council) which the state assembly is empowered to do under the state constitution, the behaviour of these hooligans confirms that they are a disgrace to the Malay race and culture.
The police should be investigating the behaviour of this mob and gathering evidence from court security officers who seemed to be sleeping on their job.
Does somebody need to get killed or seriously injured before the police will take action against thugs who are sponsored by groups close to the establishment or are they above the law?
Ourvotesdecide: For exercising his constitutional right of freedom of speech, Khalid was charged with sedition. But for those who followed, insulted, threatened and spat at him, are free to roam... What a country Malaysia has become under PM Najib Abdul Razak.
Khalid is but a few of the real towering Malay/Muslim leaders who deserved to lead Malaysia, not the likes of Najib and the Umno leaders. For Malaysia to succeed against the devils, it needs such brave, disciplined, intelligent, progressive and fair-minded leaders like Khalid.
Yes, they will be condemned as traitors, insulted and spat on by people from his own race/religion who paid others to try to threaten, frighten and humiliate him, but Allah will definitely protect and bless Khalid.
Bystander: Khalid is a brave and righteous man who calls a spade a spade. Bravo. These good-for-nothing youths who were paid to run him down with insults were mere parasites mutated from the failing government of today. With such mindsets and not being able to tell right from wrong, Malaysia is doomed.
Will my Muslim brothers and sisters speak up for Khalid, please? Your silence would not do justice to Khalid who is fighting to reform the country.
A Voice From the Wilderness: There is no shame in one who stood by his principles and beliefs. How do we expect ‘kurang ajar’ samsengs to understand the value of life. Blame it on Umno upbringing.
Ferdtan: Are the group of angry Malay youths acting like hooligans and gangsters defending the royalty or Islam? Does Islam allow such despicable act of spiting at another person? It is not even our culture.
As the police had not been taken action against such rowdies before when it is targeted at opposition leaders, it is the BN government's fault. It is insulting to Islam and our royalty to have such uncouth human beings defending them.
Kang Kong King: This is the price of being in the opposition. Go on, Khalid, you fought for the rakyat. There’s no other way to read it. Those who abuse you are the low end Umno mob who got a few cents from their party bosses.
Hot Khong: How ironic that the youth who called Khalid a traitor to the Malay race would himself be so uncouth as to spit at another. Would that youth consider his behaviour to be very ‘Malay’?
Truth1: Khalid is a man of integrity, a man who upholds principles; a God-fearing man who is deserving of our respect and support.
Those hired thugs threatening him have no brains whatsoever, and are blind followers and cannot fathom the issues at stake. They probably also wouldn't know how to tie their shoelaces.
P Dev Anand Pillai: This is the result of decades of indoctrination of the Malay race. That is the reason why they will never abolish the indoctrination bureau called the National Civics Bureau (BTN).
If the Malay race doesn’t appreciate their own that are brave enough to think out of the box, then the non-Malays will.
There will be many more Khalid Samads who will emerge; these people will lead on multi-racial platforms. If PAS doesn't see this, it will be their loss.
Anticonmen: When elected MPs and elected cabinet members including the PM and ex-PMs do not condemn such acts of hooligans spitting at and harassing another elected MP, the country has really gone to the dogs. There is no respect for the law. The police should have played their role in immediately arresting the hooligans.
Masu Otaku: The culprits can easily be identified from the photo. The police must take action and investigate this act of criminal intimidation or be deaf, dumb and blind.
Haveagreatday: If you are standing upright, you do not have to worry if your shadow is crooked. Khalid has always spoken as a voice of reason and moderation.
Those uncivilised youths are probably the henchmen of those extremists and racists running amok in our society now.
