Nazri: MH17 trial in M'sia 'fake' without criminals
Anonymous_3faa : The reason why Malaysia did not ratify the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is very obvious.
There is fear of cross-boundary prosecution by those whose crimes of corruption, murder and other misdemeanours can be marked as NFA (no further action) here, but not under ICC jurisdiction.
Myop101: Thanks to tourism minister and former law minister Nazri Abdul Aziz for bringing this up. Our government owes it to the MH17 victims' families to see to it that justice is done.
Tok Karut: We have precedents for this, Nazri, lest you forget. A criminal is not taken to court because of (links to) people in high places.
Swipenter: Nazri, there are times when you are just brilliant and this is one of those times, with the last one being your retort to MCA regarding foreign cooks.
You scored splendidly twice in a week. Once against MCA and now against the Umno Baru government.
Umno Baru is trying its best to milk political mileage from the MMH17 tragedy. A "fake" trial would be a great display of Bolehland's "everything pun boleh" (everything's possible) mentality.
Look at the royal commissions of inquiry (RCI) done on the police's conduct, Lingamgate, DAP former aide Teoh Beng Hock's mysterious death, illegal immigrants in Sabah, the Batu Puteh fiasco, murder without motive, words we cannot use, academic claims of Bolehland never being colonialised, etc.
Indeed we are the 'Land of Endless Possibilities', even if we have to fake it.
Hmmmmmmmm: Now I guess we know the feeling of the victims when the perpetrators can't be brought to justice, for one reason or another.
Sa Tombs: Nazri would make a good attorney-general (AG) as he has time and again answered correctly on matters affecting law and (dis)order, while the AG keeps playing the same old broken record.
The current AG and the inspector-general of police (IGP) are unfit to hold office. According to them, the rule of law is only for the "chosen" ones.
Odin: The very idea of conducting the MH17 trial in Malaysia and applying Sos Ma (a new brand of sauce on the market) reflects extraordinary stupidity.
Throw in some kangkung, meat from a one-ringgit chicken, garlic, belacan, ground chilli, and stir-fry all with a generous dash of Sos Ma, and you'll have a gastronomic comedy.
Oh, you must not forget to get a Bangladeshi or a Nepalese to do the stir-frying.
Sacking of Khalid discussed at PKR meeting
Ong: It appears to me that once Abdul Khalid Ibrahim knows his days as Selangor menteri besar are numbered, he goes all out to cause as much damage as possible to the Pakatan Rakyat state government.
Clearly, his love is only for the MB’s post and never for PKR. The longer he remains, the more damage he will cause to PKR and the Pakatan state government.
Aries46: While Khalid claims to have sacrificed plenty for the party, it is insignificant compared with the damage he has done in terms of perceived betrayals and how he is now holding the state to ransom by illegally clinging to power.
As for PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, if his loyalty to the party is the criteria for his elevation to MB, let us not forget that party rebel Khalid too was appointed by virtue of his loyalty.
Yes, Azmin is deserving indeed, but considering his potential Umno genes, what if he too goes the way of Khalid that 'the end justifies the means'?
And what about Azmin's abject failure in Sabah that the state remains elusive to Pakatan even till today? These are by no means directed at Azmin or his integrity per se, but merely to ensure that whoever becomes the MB, there be no repetition of the Khalid stunt ever in PKR.
There are many principled and capable leaders in PKR but for now PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail seems the safest bet to see Selangor through this term and face the rakyat in GE14.
Gggg: One reason why former Perak MB Nizar Jamaluddin gained support in Perak was due to the fact he dared to stand up. However, in Selangor's case PKR cannot stand up against PAS and Khalid.
Except the fact that Selangorians are not stupid. They are not going to forgive what PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat and the racist PAS central committee member have expressed.
How many more meetings must they have before acting? Khalid is no longer under Pakatan's control, so what difference would it make whether he gets sacked?
The Mask: One of the mistakes PKR made when it selected Khalid to be the MB was that it did not realise the degree of trouble the excess baggage he was and is still carrying, and that is the huge debt he had to settle with a bank.
And it is now probably being used by Umno to put a stranglehold on him. So, coming back to the next MB - Kak Wan (Azizah Wan Ismail) or Azmin?
Will the party go through with a fine tooth comb to dig up any dirt or excess baggage that the two may have, and who will likely be bought over?
I think the answer is obvious. Let us not repeat the same mistake.
