YOURSAY ‘There are no enemies waiting to pounce on Muslims or Malays.’
Utusan roasts Mkini again for readers' comments
Tholu: Apa lagi Utusan Malaysia mahu? Hello Utusan , you do your job and let Malaysiakini do its job.
The reality is, it is your paper that stokes and instigates racial and religious antagonism and disharmony among the various races in this country. It is your paper that spins and lies.
Don't pretend to be unaware of the numerous defamation suits filed against your paper and the many times the court judgments went against your paper for spinning and printing false news against opposition leaders.
I write in the comment section of Malaysiakini and sometimes my comments are highlighted in the Yoursay column. In none of them would you find hate as you have spewed.
Could you not as a leading paper be also responsible for the divisions being forced on the people and offer a moratorium on racial matters?
As citizens of this country, we do not harbour hatred or disrespect for any race or religion. There are no enemies waiting to pounce on Muslims or Malays. These threats are manufactured, they are not even in your mind.
So be more the paper you should be and stand up for all Malaysians. For one year, no more provocative articles from you.
Casey: Who're the real traitors to this nation? More than half the country's voters would say: the bigots, the corrupt and the servile leaders in the Umno-led government, who crave nothing short of a nationwide chaos - pitching the Malays against the rest - so that they can continue to treat the nation's wealth as money for grab.
But as what Abraham Lincoln said, "you cannot fool all the people all the time." Umno has been fooling the people since the administration of Dr Mahathir Mohamad. And that's too long a time.
However, to wish that this government, which had decayed beyond redemption, will look after the interest of the nation and to protect the legitimate rights of its people can best be summed up by an English idiom: 'If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.'
In other words, it is useless to wish and that the better results will be achieved through the people's concerted action - vote it out in GE14.
Cry, My Beloved Country: Government is not a race, nor a religion, When poor governance, corruption, cronyism, disrespect for the rule of law is criticised, and justly, it is mischief-making and irresponsible provocation to claim that a race or a religion is being assailed and threatened.
Odin: Utusan’s Azman Anuar, your very accusation, ‘Usually these 'pro-opposition' portals never report things that are true', clearly illustrates your toilet roll's propensity for telling blatant lies.
Is it not true that Flight MH370 cannot be traced till today? Is it not true that the military radar has not been re-calibrated? Is it not true that Malaysia High Commission in New Zealand sought the acquiescence of the government of that country to cover up the case of military attache Muhammad Rizalman Ismail, who allegedly committed burglary and sexual assault there?
Is it not true that Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) falsely accused four Muslims of khalwat and wrongly arrested them? Is it not true that Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor wants the soup kitchens closed and the homeless taken off the streets?
I can offer a myriad other examples. Only your racist, bigoted readers - or whatever you have left of them - would believe you.
P Dev Anand Pillai: Dear Utusan , though this is a supremacist system of governance that we live in, you have got to accept the fact that this supremacist system has told the world that it practices democracy so if it does, then it has got to learn to tolerate dissent.
The more you mind mould and shape the thinking to suit the grand design of supremacist rule, the more there will be dissent. It is natural, so just learn to accept dissent and prove that your system of governance is the best.
Fair Play: Malaysiakini provides all right-thinking Malaysians a platform to express their feelings and viewpoint.
Any progressive government of the day could only afford to ignore their opinion and viewpoint at their peril. As for Utusan , have they got what it takes to sue Malaysiakini for false reporting instead of raving and ranting.
Geronimo: Hello Azman Anuar, wow, I didn't know you read English. Very good, now let me explain to you. The readers of Malaysiakini and The Malaysian Insider are never against Malays or Islam as accused by you.
We, including Malay readers, are against the likes of Umno Baru and the way they practise the Islamic religion which has become questionable of late. So stop pulling wool over the eyes of the Malay illiterates as you are always fond of doing.
The people will always tell you as it is, black is black and white is white, no more no less. Comprende?
Survivor: Yes, we will continue to criticise bad governance and bad policy which will put Malaysia into disrepute.
We criticise corrupt practices, abuse of power and selective persecution. We will continue to criticise the government of the day for being racist and extremist in its view. We will not stop alleging Umno Baru for outsourcing bigotry and extremism to radical organisations such as Perkasa and Isma.
We will hammer Umno Baru and ministers for threatening others with violent. We will even criticise those so-called BN component parties for being subservient to Umno Baru and betraying Malaysia.
There are so much more to criticise if the simple logic of doing the right things cannot even be understood by those who walk the corridor of power.
Oriole: Poor Utusan , professional jealousy is a terrible thing. Malaysiakini has managed to hold its own without the help of political masters; that must hurt you like nothing else. And you are the butt of most jokes on journalism in the country.
Bulibahkalaukau: Does Utusan still exist?? Is it available in three ply, extra soft, and in rolls of 12 at the 1Malaysia stores? Preferably subsidised?
Fair Play: I suppose Utusan is now trying to 'provoke' DPM Muhyiddin Yassin to file a defamation suit against Malaysiakini too. Malaysiakini is too dangerous to be allowed to exist.
