YOURSAY ‘I am spellbound. I am gobsmacked. This young lady rocks.’
Dyana for Teluk Intan 'to break racial barriers'
Telestai!: What a refreshing change. For the life of me, I couldn't imagine there is such a level headed, intelligent, young and beautiful Malaysian woman who would be interested to run for public office.
I am spellbound. I am gobsmacked. This young lady rocks. Just when I thought all is lost, Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud struts along and proved me wrong.
Fairnsquare: "Malaysians need to find a common identity that would appeal as much across the board...," said Dyana.
Wise words from a young politician, words still not realised by many seniors. Dyana is definitely on the right track.
Her mother, Yammy Samat, is definitely a jewel in Umno and if every Umno member thinks like her, it would be the most popular party.
To accept diversity with humility is missing in Umno and this lady has it. Umno needs more people like her and the country needs more politicians like these two women.
For2Long: I fully endorse your candidacy Dyana and I pray for your victory in the coming by-election.
And I salute your mother for her wisdom, open mind and maternal love for you that is so refreshing.
Having different political affiliations among family members is not a sin or a crime. Refusing to accept this, is.
Blackmoon: I am changing my support to Dyana, a true Melayu unlike Zairil Khir who is only the stepson of Khir Johari.
I hope all Malay voters from Teluk Intan will vote for Dyana. My support for Dyana will not change my perception of the Chinese chauvinist DAP. Vote Dyana, anak Melayu tulin.
Jiminy Qrikert: Blackmoon, is Dyana's Malay blood as thick as Dr Mahathir Mohamad's Malay blood? How about Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's Malay blood? What about Zambry Abdul Kadir's Malay blood? And what about Ridhuan Tee Abdullah's Malay blood?
Or maybe Malay blood thickness is all about the mixture itself. Malay + Mat Salleh = royalty. Malay + Indian = Umno ruling elite. Malay + Chinese = one-term PM, imbecile Ridhuan and opposition politicians?
Samurai: It is Blackmoon's attitude that has allowed the Malay chauvinist Umno to cling on to power with the Chinese chauvinist MCA and Gerakan and the Indian chauvinist MIC. So what's new? Nothing, precisely. It's the same old racist government for 50 years.
Thanks to people like Dyana and all the young blood in the opposition, there is hope for change, but only if she remains steadfast in the face of the challenges that a Malay opposition leader can in the face of Umno's vindictiveness.
LeftHandSide: Prediction: In year 2064, Malaysia will have its equivalence of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and the likes who will lead their people out of darkness.
Since independence, we have seen the Malay society falling into a path that has led to the predicament we see today.
In the next 50 years, the chosen one will emerge to lead the Malay society out of their age of darkness. This chosen one is now living in our midst waiting to emerge. Is Dyana the One?
HatiPakatan: I believe Dyana will represent the new Malay generation. Hopefully, she will survive as many hopefuls have been raised and cast aside in the DAP the moment she shows an independent view.
For the sake of Malaysia, we pray for her to succeed.
Anonymous_5fb: Dyana, in you, I see the perfect 'teh tarik' that you are searching for. You are setting the trend for a new Malaysian politics that is gearing towards true multiracialism.
Umno and BN will be dying of their own narrow racial and religious politics. A new star is born in you, Dyana.
WDA: Dyana's intelligence, confidence, and charm gives her all the ingredients to be the next political superstar. Youths and the next generation are going to admire and look up to her.
And to make it really painful for BN, she is a DAP member. She could be the catalyst that will encourage Muslims and Malays to join DAP in droves in the near future.
Therefore, BN will go all out to defeat Dyana as she could set a dangerous precedent that could seriously threaten the ruling government's future. They will try their best to trample on the seed before it sets root. They are going to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at her.
Pakatan Rakyat, be wary and do not rest on your laurels, not even for a minute. Bukit Gelugor is a sure win, focus your resources on Teluk Intan as this could be one of the most important and game changing by-elections in our history.
War Child: Dyana, welcome to the hard knocks of Malaysian politics. Be prepared or do not be surprised should you see an apparent you appear in a pornographic video.
There are scoundrels who are capable of doing such videos of A-list Hollywood actresses. The bikini photograph is nothing compared to a pornographic video.
The voters of Teluk Intan should emulate voters who voted for the late Karpal Singh and his two sons, although they are from a minority community.
Fair&Just: Hopefully, Dyana if elected, will continue to be steadfast, strong and resolute in her noble virtues and not be contaminated by the dirty, avaricious, vile and capricious nature of Bohongland politics.
She is very young and needs constant and good guidance while the limelight of being in the pinnacle of power can be intoxicating and at times delusional.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely and that what's happening to BN. No conscience, virtue, humanity, heartless and cruel. No qualms or remorse over all the vile, evil and corrupt offences committed against the rakyat.
Nonbeliever: There is nothing nobler than to give one's time, money and talents to help another human being. I am the author of this saying. If Dyana follows this saying, all should vote for her.
