YOURSAY 'I'd be grateful if US doesn't use its influence to hush up its allies in a coverâup on MH370.'
Obama calls for 'full transparency' over MH370
LawofKarma: US President Barack Obama, one is either transparent or not transparent. There is no 'full transparency' or 'partial transparency'; otherwise it means manipulation. Period.
Onyourtoes: First can you ask MAS to disclose the cargo manifest? Was it really true the plane was carrying three to four tonnes of mangosteens? Let us do the simple stuff first. Who are the authorities protecting, really?
Fair Play: If what Obama is saying is not a slap in face, what's it albeit a gentle one? And right here in Malaysian soil too as a visiting head of state.
SRMan: Obama's call simply implies that he too thought that Malaysia was hiding information about the MH370 tragedy. In other words, he did not believe our government's claim of transparency on the matter.
Senior: We have got to ask the CIA to tell us what happened to the mangosteens that was going to China.
Malaysia Truly Asia: What Obama means is that he wants transparency from all countries involved in the search and rescue operations, but the USA will review what is shared. He says nothing of what the US will share, which is zilch.
Spinnot: How come the world's No. 1 space power USA has not shared one single satellite image of MH370 debris with us, except the one released through Australia and described by its PM Tony Abbot as the "most credible lead"?
Anticonmen: Maybe Obama, the president of the most powerful nation, knows why 20 senior engineers of Freescale Semiconductors were on board a midnight flight from KL to Beijing. Freescale Semiconductor is an American company with discoveries in advanced microchip defence technology and is said to be owned by the powerful Jewish family of Jacob Rothschild.
Obama knows if there are American companies that might possibly have the technology to remote control Boeing planes. Who else could make a plane disappear without a trace? Could Obama be afraid to reveal or is simply trying to mislead?
Is any party in the know and is also hiding crucial information as part of a deal? Only time will tell. The US and Malaysian governments should both practice transparency first.
Bystander: Without the intervention of a super power with the latest and most sophisticated technology, Malaysia just doesn't have the capability to do a David Copperfield with MH370. So Mr Obama, please be more forthcoming with your findings.
Hearty Malaysian: Does Obama know something our government has yet to reveal?
Bamboo: I would be grateful if the US doesn't use its influence to hush up its regional allies in a coverâup on MH370. Total transparency would be too much to expect. Talk about empty talk!
Keropok Lekor: Transparency means: "We really don't know what happened to the plane"; "We were sleeping when it happened"; "We were shy to show the cargo manifest; have something that we cannot say"; "Please don't ask so much; we don't know, la."
Anonymous_1396163122 : Just tell Obama that in Malaysia or what we call Bolehland everything is classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) as everything is considered national security.
All privatised projects are kept under OSA as well as all government contracts in the water, infrastructure and energy sectors. Even our oil and gas assets under Petronas are kept under wraps. This is a rotten government.
Real Truth : Obama, are you implying "full transparency" for only MH370 or "full transparency" in good governance, free from interference in the judiciary, a free and fair elections and a free and fair civil service?
Anonymous #039163649: Obama also called for moderation, so I guess he does not know that even infants can be separated from their mums when the father converts, and dad can convert children without mum's knowledge and consent.
Religious authorities can also turn up at funerals and say, "Sorry to say, at one point the deceased converted covertly and now we are taking away the body."
Guess that's called moderation
Casey919: Sorry Obama. Your presence in Malaysia depleted my respect for you. Welcome to the "Talk Only" Club in Malaysia.
