YOURSAY ‘If the passage of time did not help to heal old wounds, then what is the purpose of living? To feel bitter about life?'

Is it okay to kill innocents, MCA asks Zahid

your say Louis: MCA publicity bureau chief Heng Seai Kie, do not play-act with Umno. We know MCA’s game plan. It tries to show that it dares go against Umno, but just for this period of time, trying to woo back Chinese voters. But, when all is over and done, MCA will be sleeping in the same bed with Umno and will be as meek as a lamb. Heng, the more you speak, the more despicable you appear to be.

Onyourtoes: Seai Kie, I give you "A" for effort, but "F" for intelligence and judgement. You are trying to drive at full speed but with the handbrake on, understand what I am saying? What is the point of trying to convince and reason with racist and jingoistic nincompoops?

By the way, Deputy Home Minister Wan Junaidi Wan Tuanku Jaafar does not have to say whether MCA is within BN or otherwise. You ought to know the position of MCA for the last 50 years.

Do you want to know the greatest contribution of MCA in Malaysian politics? Nurturing and inculcating Umno into a domineering and ketuanan party.

Iiiizzzziiii: I would also like to add that to forgive and forget speeds up the healing process for all. If the passage of time did not help to heal old wounds, then what is the purpose of living? To hold grudges and to feel bitter about life? The choice is always there for one, but in choosing, do not blame others for your decision.

End of the road: Who says we cannot break an agreement? Those who signed it long ago are no longer in the government. You can sign a peace treaty but we can still go for war. It does not mean if it is signed, it is against the law to go to war and those who break the treaty will be sued in court. We are human beings, we will remain arrogant and we will not change.

Xtcher: What Umno is trying to do is to try to make the people forget the existence of Chin Peng, particularly his role in fighting the Japanese and later the British rule. Unfortunately for them, what I see is that their very decision and action of denying Chin Peng's ashes being brought back and buried is creating the opposite effect.

They'll eventually make a hero of him with their action instead of him eventually being forgotten over time! the family of Chin Peng should thank Umno for indirectly immortalising his memory!

Kita malaysia: I didn't know whether MCA really knows the true colour of Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. MCA, please invite DAP’s veteran lawyer Karpal Singh to fight at a world tribunal or world international law conference.

Razak Naim: Umno has already decided that the views of their component parties are not worthy. They will come back to the component parties just two months before the next general election (GE).

Zen: The two Malaysian terrorists and Chin Peng are two different stories. The terrorists had their own different crazy agenda and were not fighting against this nation. Chin Peng is the nation's No 1 enemy who ruthlessly killed Malayan policemen, soldiers and also innocent civilians eg in Bukit Kepong.

His unrepentant attitude during the Baling talks with Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first PM, who was a very fair person, shows that he wants to forward his communist agenda on the Malayan people by force of arms. While Chin Peng's CPM was busy killing the mostly Malay security forces during the Emergency Period, the Malayan Chinese fled in droves elsewhere. The Malays were doing the dirty work while the Chinese hid themselves in safe havens elsewhere.

This is what this MCA woman does not know. Do some reading on some history articles about the Chinese 'contribution' during the Emergency period in Malaya before taking the story along racial lines.

Anonymous_4056: Zen, the Japanese wrought untold sufferings upon Malaysia and most East Asian Countries who fought them in Malaya - the Chinese fought back but the Malays corroborated with the Japanese. Again, who fought against the British imperialists?

Visu: You can see how history is being contrived here in Malaysia. All the half-lies and unsubstantiated facts as seen from the comments here are very much the outcome of our poor education system that has been destroyed by Umno. Please read up all the facts about Chin Peng before making stupid comments. Chin Peng is an integral part of our history and he was a freedom fighter. Being a communist or a democrat does not take this fact away.

Fogbom: When the blood pressure rises, the intellectual power falls. Chin Peng was the local representative of a global Communist International movement, based on Marx-Engels materialist understanding of societal development. At the end of the 20th century, it survives only in China, Cuba, Vietnam and Laos.

The China two-systems model has been astoundingly successful, in materially uplifting the world's largest population to the 2nd position in economic production, but there are great problems ahead.

Chin Peng is vilified unthinkingly by a minority of Malaysians, as if he personally wanted to rule Malaysia and amass great personal wealth for himself! In wars, people are killed on both sides. There is little place for rancour in modern life. Get on with it. Grow up.

It’s hard, but we must stop mouthing what we were trained from young to do, unthinkingly. It’s hard but we must dislodge all the petty hatreds we were brought up with, tendered daily with our mothers’ milk. Because it’s bad for our mind and soul!

Asitis: At times like in this article, Lady Heng speaks a lot of sense. Most other times, however, like when she accused Anwar of being sexist, she do not appear to be capable of thinking straight and clearly. What does this tells us? It's all a show put up by a politician to suit the occasion.

Just like an actor/actress can at one time assume the role of the benevolent hero/heroine character and at another time the role of the evil villain/villainess. Lady Heng is here assuming the role of the benevolent heroine. I wonder who wrote her script.
