Penang is set to get the first Chinese state legislative speaker with the appointment of state PKR deputy chief Law Choo Kiang.

This was confirmed by Penang PKR chief Mansor Othman, when met by reporters following the swearing-in ceremony of the 10 state executive councillors at Dewan Sri Penang.
