LETTER | We totally support the progressive call made by our Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing to adopt visa-on-arrival for all tourists.

There is no time to waste if we are to garner the expected rush to travel after such a long hiatus.

We must take this unique opportunity to immediately attract tourists to Malaysia as all countries are on equal standing, starting from zero arrivals.

There has never been a better time than now, when all countries are beginning at the same starting line. We must not miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Technology has enabled the efficiency and possibility of issuing visa-on-arrival securely and we must embrace these tools immediately and not miss this time window of “revenge tourism”.

Proven technology is widely available and many countries are able to securely operate visa-on-arrival methods for visitors and tourists to their respective locations.

We reiterate our full and absolute support for the call to implement visa-on-arrival and for the authorities to immediately do so.

We must take advantage of this expected hike in tourism activities worldwide and attract tourists to Malaysia with enhanced tourist arrival procedures.
