LETTER | I refer to the press statement by the board of Kojadi on July 23, 2019, setting out the reasons for my suspension as chairperson of the board of Kojadi.
I stand by what I have said in my press statement on July 22, 2019, that "there is no evidence whatsoever that I had acted in a manner which is prejudicial to the interests of Kojadi."
In fact, my action, which was mandated by the board resolution on June 27, 2019, was to co-operate with the authorities to ensure Kojadi steers clear of criminal and civil sanctions.
I also refer to one paragraph that said: "According to a news report by Sin Chew Daily on June 10, 2019, Ng has attempted to justify his acts by alleging that when MACC named Kojadi among the 41 recipients linked to 1MDB, it prompted him to hold the emergency board meeting on June 27."
This statement is false. I never said:"…when MACC named Kojadi among the 41 recipients linked to 1MDB…"
I wish to reiterate that I was elected by all members of Kojadi to serve and protect the interest of over 60,000 members and also the 60 staff. I wish to thank all those who had messaged me supporting my statements and action.
Finally, to the board of Kojadi, your decision to suspend me as chairperson is based on falsehood, unwarranted and unlawful. I reserve my rights to seek all legal remedies against all board members and Kojadi.
The writer is the former chairperson of Kojadi.
