LETTER | The Deputy Inspector-General of Police Noor Rashid Ibrahim must be saluted for his open warning to politicians for it is most shocking that our politicians court gangsters behind the curtains of their seeming service to the citizens and nation.
According to the deputy police chief and as reported by the media recently, "It is common for politicians to associate themselves with such illegal organisations."
No small wonder why corruption, crime and politics are symbiotic triplets coexisting and thriving in Malaysia.
No small wonder why from timber to agriculture to trading, the citizens often end up at the raw end, paying for the upkeep of parasitic politicians.
No small wonder, too, why the rule of law is often given the short end of the stick.
It is time that all such recalcitrant, robber politicians are exposed without mercy.
It is time that this rot in the head is chopped off. This will then ensure the entire body of beneficiaries including the kith and kin of politicians get punished without the gravy train.
You cannot proclaim to be patriotic to the nation while soliciting the support of the underworld. That is betrayal of the highest order.
I hope our police will have the determination to restore this nation's integrity and safe democracy by going all out to nab all those politicians who use gangsters to stay in power.
