Tiong King Guan sought as witness in murder of bank manager

Wanted: Tiong King Guan, age 31, height 175cm, large bone built, with dark brown hair and eyes, pure Chinese Foochow descent, normally residing in Sibu, Sarawak, is wanted as a material witness in the HSBC Sibu Manager’s case, DPP vs Ling Hang Tsyr SBW-45-3/2-2015.

On June 14, 2012, Wong Jing Kui, the youngest HSBC bank manager, was found murdered with multiple stab wounds in his bedroom in Sibu. His estranged wife Ling Hang Tsyr, Ling’s boyfriend Tiong King Guan and a ‘hired killer’, Ling Hoe Ing, were all arrested for the plot in murdering Wong.

On Oct 1, 2013, Ing pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 16 years in jail at the Sibu High Court under Section 304 for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The Court of Appeal (Kuching) held that Tiong and Ling be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for abetting the murder of Wong on Feb 10, 2015. But Tiong failed to appear in Kuching court on Feb 10, 2015 and had been on the run since then.

Ling was arrested and charged. The murder trial against the deceased’s wife, Ling, has commenced in Sibu, but Tiong is still missing.

Although a warrant of arrest for Tiong was issued, Tiong is still not found. Tiong is a material witness in this murder case but has been missing for two years since Feb 10, 2015.

The investigating officer from the Sibu police, DSP Yeoh Chun Shyan, states that an ongoing investigation is being made and requests the public who have any leads on Tiong to contact himself (0122626191) or the Police CID team’s Inspector Hairul at 084-322222/084336268 (ext 244). The deceased’s family will give a reward of RM50,000 to any person if the information leads directly to Tiong being arrested and charged.
