I refer the recent incident where enforcers from the Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (Jawi) raided a Kuala Lumpur nightclub and detained Muslim youth who were present on the premises.

If this government agency can display such a tyranny over Muslims, we can imagine what their tolerance levels will be towards non-Muslims in the future when their powers are enhanced.

I see those 100 Muslims detained in the raid as moderate Muslims and it is they who form a 'shield' of sorts between extremist Muslims and non-Muslims. In Malaysia, once the moderate Muslims are gone, the non-Muslims will be in peril.

Therefore, the KL club raid is definitely a cause of concern for non-Muslims contrary to what some have articulated. In fact, non-Muslims should come out and support these moderate Muslims and voice their common concern because they are the 'shield'.
