The fact of the matter is there are many would-be Muslims apostates out there who in reality are neither Malay nor Muslim but people either associated with some less than sincere missionary agenda or just individuals partial in expressing their jaundiced views

Some people in this world just cannot accept the fact that regardless of the copious negative propaganda and criticisms (some justified) against the Muslims, Muslims worldwide invariably hold steadfast to their beliefs and their religion

But unfortunately, there are some Muslims who abandon the religion they were born into at the flimsiest excuse. Some have even have gone to the extent of 'accessorising' their new adopted religion because that makes then appear 'modern' and in step with the Western world - an ideal which in their minds is life's penultimate achievement!

These people then become bewildered and flabbergasted as to why Muslims around the world just refuse to be, well, 'modern' like them. Hence, stories and hearsay that they regurgitate again and again.

If Malay apostates are genuine they have two very clear choices; one, make a statutory declaration that he/she is now a non-Muslim. This process is available to him or her in law.

The second choice - surprise, surprise - is that they can just go and live in Sabah or Sarawak where no one cares what you want to do with your religion. No worries about the hand of the Syariah court ever reaching you there. This is public knowledge. No need to emigrate anywhere.

Letters by the likes of would-be apostates are nothing more than charades to garner attention for non-issues by contrived entities. Their rants continue, thanks to malaysiakini .
