It is true that promises are made to be broken. Early this year the rakyat were promised many things but to date few have been fulfilled.

And now it has been revealed (definitely not in the mainstream newspapers) that the Barisan Nasional party had, through a company, purchased election materials and paraphernalia but never paid their suppliers.

How can we talk about integrity and honesty and a principles-centred leadership when a simple thing of paying invoices for goods taken are not honoured?

Before the general election we heard of Eric Chia and other petty corruption crimes. We were promised that more were to follow after the elections. To date, nothing quite exciting has happened.

The allegations of millions of ringgit being siphoned out of the government coffers have never been answered and those responsible have never been brought to justice.

Anwar Ibrahim, the former deputy prime minister lodged a police report with regards to Perwaja Steel. Although denied by the government at first, it is now clear that there was indeed such a police report .

Anwar also intervened in the Renong deal where the rakyat would have been the loser. For all this, the wrath of the establishment cronies made him pay dearly.

It is better, dear prime minister, to have said little and done much then to have said much and done little. Our high expectations have been unfulfilled.

Do what is right by the side of God and your conscience, and you will be remembered as a man of courage no matter how long you hold office for.
