I believe this is indeed the end of DAP as a political heavyweight. Should Keadilan do well in this election that would mean:

1) The acceptance as Keadilan as a multiracial party

2) The rejection of DAP as a multiracial party.

It is quite obvious that the DAP is seen a Chinese party, very much like Gerakan - relying on Chinese chauvinism to win votes.

Keadilan is still seen as being predominantly Malay and to certain extent a single-issue party. However, it seems that Keadilan projects a more multicultural approach to and broader view of politics in Malaysia. That PRM and PSM are standing under Keadilan's banner says much its new approach to politics in Malaysia.

I am sad that DAP is contesting in areas where Keadilan is clearly stronger. DAP seems to be a spoilsport. I am told that DAP only comes alive when there are elections. And, other than its media appearance by selected politicians, it really does not have any presence at the grassroots. This could be the main reason for its decline over the years.

More importantly, in the name of strengthening the opposition, it should graciously make the necessary changes to allow Keadilan, which is stronger, to challenge BN where DAP has failed. After all, this will only strengthen the opposition and benefit the rakyat , something DAP has always been championing.
