As the brother to a disabled person (Orang Kurang Upaya or OKU) in Penang. I would like to appeal to motorists in Penang to always leave the OKU parking lots empty for people who are genuinely disabled as I have been receiving complains that the OKU parking lots are always taken up by cars without OKU stickers.
Registered disabled individuals can always apply for the OKU council stickers from the council directly as long as they have their OKU identification cards.
Penang is now moving towards becoming an international city and I am confident in the civic-mindedness of Penangites to work hand in hand with us in helping us get there. Let us start by respecting the needs of our disabled brothers and sisters and let them have an easier access in running their errands.
I am confident that Penangites will respect the needs of one another. I am always contactable should there be any problems.
