Suresh Gnasegarah said that Keadilan is a single issue party. I presume the 'single issue' being Anwar Ibrahim and the injustices heaped upon this man who was the deputy prime minister of Malaysia and now treated worse than a common criminal.
Look beyond the man and what do you see? The judiciary, the law enforcement, the cabinet ministers, the attorney-general and every branch of government have directed its full force of power against this man.
Not because he is convicted of a crime beyond the shadow of doubt, but because of his political stand.
Beaten up in prison, denied bail, convicted in a circus court with his most vocal supporters detained under the ISA, and Suresh asks: how does this affect the average person on the street?
If the average person on the street cannot see how this affects them, then there is just one word to describe this average person: apathetic!
But I don't believe just this of Malaysians - it is because the average person reads only the reality fed to them by the government-sponsored news media and cannot be fully aware of the government they have chosen to represent.
