Way back in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, you could find qualified doctors of quality. Not anymore. What is the Malaysian Medical Council doing about this?
Patients are dying without proper diagnosis, wrong medication, wrong operation, wrong treatment. It is time the MMC stop allowing graduate doctors with MD and MBBS degrees to be allowed to do their houseman-ship if their SPM results are at a poor level.
One can notice they are not qualified to be doctors as they do not know anything about the disease. Very slim chances for patients' survival. Let's be careful not to have a body bag sent back to the family all under the umbrella ‘government doctors'.
The MMC has been accepting graduates whom they believe are qualified to be doctors as MMC claims an insufficient number of doctors. But they can't allow poor SPM candidates to be wasting their time doing medicine when it cannot be their 'cup of tea'.
It is time for the MMC to nab all these poorly-qualified medical doctors. It is time for the MMC to pull out from the hospitals all these fools.
It is only proper for them to be given general work in the wards rather than allowing them to treat patients. The majority of them are not at all up to the standard. One does not know how they acquired degrees abroad with no knowledge of how to treat patients.
It is also time to nab the minister of health and the director-general of the health ministry. I believe they do not care anymore about the health and well-being of the nation except they just want to remain in power.
It is real shocking to hear so many complaints against the hospitals. How is it one gets to be a doctor without meeting the requirements of the Higher Education Ministry? A lot of ‘education touts' are an additional contribution to this nightmare.
Agents here send abroad poorly-qualified students to do medicine. They earn a fortune out of these students as parents want to see their children to be professionals. This even though they know their children are not qualified to do medicine.
This issue of recruiting students who under-qualified to do medicine should be banned with immediate effect. They cannot do medicine abroad as this only contributes to a booming business.
They study in recognised universities abroad saying the MMC will recognise them when they come back to Malaysia with their degrees.
It is now best to look back at the SPM and STPM results of our government doctors to tackle this matter. It is advisable to pull these doctors out and replace them or give them other duties in the hospitals.
The MMC is getting from bad to worse. It has become lazy and carefree. It cannot stand as a medical board in any part of the world as it seem to be incompetent in the selection of medical graduates who are mostly deemed unsuitable for this profession.
Most of them cannot qualify for higher positions whilst doing houseman-ship. The professors and lecturers will deem them unfit to be promoted. What more can be said?
