COMMENT | When the Court of Appeal ruled recently in favour of Najib Abdul Razak on the issue of house arrest, MIC must have jumped in joy because its prayer was answered.
MIC did not participate in the rally organised to lend moral support to the former premier when the judges deliberated on the merit of his appeal.
The party played by the rules and obeyed the police order not to join the assembly held on the grounds of the Palace of Justice.
Instead, MIC chose another weapon that it believed would be awesome: the power of prayer. So, hundreds of party members gathered on the temple grounds at Batu Caves and offered their prayers.
They must have prayed very hard because Najib indeed emerged victorious in this latest court battle. The prisoner must have thanked MIC profusely for its prayers of intercession at a time when all hope seemed lost for him.
