MP SPEAKS | The recent parliamentary session concluded with the passing of Budget 2021 in the Dewan Rakyat at the third reading with a razor-thin majority of just three votes (111 to 108). Subsequently, a few key Pakatan Harapan leaders, namely DAP's Lim Guan Eng and Amanah's Mohamad Sabu, called for a “political reset” to consolidate the strength of the 108 opposition MPs in the Dewan Rakyat.
A press statement issued by the duo stated: “This is the reality that Harapan must face, the need for a political reset to focus on uniting our friends amongst the opposition MPs who stood by us on Tuesday.
"Harapan should not be wasting time on opportunistic government backbenchers exploiting Harapan for their own private benefit to get more and more lucrative deals from the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government”.
