Mind Matters Rally 2024: Embrace, Empower, Evolve - Uniting for Mental Wellness!

One in five teenagers silently battles depression—a hidden epidemic often overlooked. While mental health is often associated with adulthood, today's youth face unprecedented levels of stress, anxiety, and depression, often masked behind seemingly typical teenage behaviour.

According to a recent study by the Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA), a staggering one in four Malaysian teenagers aged 13 to 18 experience symptoms of depression. These alarming statistics underscore the growing mental health crisis among young people in the country. The prevalence of depression among Malaysian youth is significantly higher than global averages, highlighting the unique challenges faced by this demographic.

Furthermore, research conducted by the Ministry of Health Malaysia reveals that suicide rates among young people have been on the rise in recent years. While the exact reasons for this alarming trend are complex and multifaceted, mental health issues such as depression and anxiety are undoubtedly contributing factors.

“As technology and societal pressures evolve rapidly, young minds are more vulnerable than ever. Addressing mental health is no longer optional—it’s urgent, and the future of our children depends on it. Hence, this event is a critical platform to shine a light on mental health challenges affecting the young. It's not just about awareness but about taking meaningful, immediate steps toward solutions. ”, said Michael Reyes, CEO & Founder of Quantum Intelligence.

On November 2nd, join us at the Mind Matters Rally at Brickfields Asia College, PJ Campus to shine a light on mental health and well-being for our younger generation. Hosted by Malaysiakini, KiniEvents and Quantum Intelligence, this event is about raising awareness, providing support, and sparking conversations that can make a difference.
