As the final whistle blew and the crowd erupted in cheers, the excitement of Julie’s annual Choco More, Bola More 2024 tournament was electric.

For the third year in a row, Julie's hosted its inter-secondary school football event and this time it was held at the Arena Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya. The football extravaganza brought together 16 teams from Selangor, who competed in 20 exhilarating matches. The event united young football talents with enthusiastic supporters, creating a vibrant atmosphere that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The tournament kicked off with a grand launch, graced by esteemed guests including Mr. Sai Tzy Horng, Director of Julie's Biscuits, Mr Raymond Kwan, General Manager of Julie’s Marketing, Ms. Tham Seen Hau, Head of Operations of Malaysiakini, and a representative from MBSJ.

Fostering Community Spirit and Healthy Lifestyles Through Football
Julie’s vision for the Choco More, Bola More tournament went beyond just a football match. It was an opportunity to bring the community together, highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyle and sportsmanship.

The theme “Choco More, Bola More” cleverly combines Julie’s popular Choco More product with the excitement of football. The word “Bola” means “ball” in Malay, making it a fun and catchy phrase that resonates with the local culture. This theme underscores Julie’s brand identity while emphasising the joy and energy associated with both the snack and the sport, encouraging young adults to enjoy competitive community sports.

“One of the challenges we face today is that many individuals are turning away from community engagement in favor of total digital engagement, which often results in them staying at home and missing out on face-to-face interactions with people and friends. We hope to change this tide and encourage people to play sports, be among others, learn interpersonal skills, develop friendships, and build a sense of community,” said Sai.

“One of the loveliest things to see is how much the participants cherish the prize money, which allows them to improve their sportsmanship and enhance their performance. The Choco More, Bola More event has had a significant impact on participating schools and students by boosting their confidence and motivation,” he said.
