From an audit associate to her current role as General Manager of Likas Square, a mixed development property located at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Wuang Ching said that ACCA's strong financial foundation has supported her career progression.
“Before I decided to pursue my ACCA certification, I took my time in researching the courses offered thoroughly and also how this certification would help me climb my career ladder. After completing it in 2014, I realised that my employer appreciated me more for pursuing it. Till this date, I still keep all my reading and case study materials as they still relate to real life scenarios,” said Wuang Ching.
Being actively involved in ACCA Sabah over the years, she became passionate about hosting seminars, networking opportunities, course advice and social events for the members. Now being the President of ACCA Sabah, she has gained valuable experience and skills such as interpersonal skills through her interactions with members, stakeholders, and committees.
If all that doesn’t impress you, she is also a certified HRD trainer, a part-time lecturer and also successfully formed a diving community club, known as the Sabah Dive Squad Club. On top of that, Wuang Ching is also actively involved in the Lions Club of Papar Host, JCI Tanjung Aru, SME Toastmasters Club, Malaysia Institute of Accountants (Sabah Regional Office) and the Young Malaysians Movement.
As an ACCA graduate, Andrew said that the ACCA qualification has contributed various capacities over the years. Currently he is the CEO and founder of uPledge, a green Climate tech/Fintech startup based in the Netherlands, focused on enabling greater financial inclusion and participation in the private equity market. Previously in his role at EY's Strategy and Transactions Global Innovation, Andrew managed global prototyping and platform development efforts and also Artificial Intelligent component builds for the Due Diligence platform.
Andrew had also led projects and global initiatives across Europe and EMEIA, the Asia Pacific, and East African regions.
“Covering the areas of finance, accounting and business, ACCA has allowed me to understand how the world of business works and ways finance should be structured.
