IWK Eco Park @ Pantai Dalam, a sports and recreational park managed by Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd, welcomed members of the local community for a vibrant “Fitness & Film” day to mark the Malaysia Day occasion.
This event sought to enhance the company’s engagement with community members nearby, while embracing the unity spirit of Malaysia Day through an energetic celebration that emphasised health, wellness, and fun.
The “Fitness & Film” day provided a unique opportunity for community members from surrounding areas to come together and enjoy a day filled with fitness activities and outdoor cinema. Visitors engaged in a lively Zumba class and enjoyed a relaxing yoga session.
Celebrity instructors such as Atilia Haron, Hanif Shawn and Yasmin Hani led these activities, motivating participants to prioritise their physical well-being and fostering a sense of camaraderie among visitors.
As the sun set, the crowd gathered in a comfortable outdoor setting for an open-air movie screening under the stars. The movie selection featured a heart-warming Malaysian movie chosen to cherish the spirit of Malaysia in celebration of Malaysia Day. Visitors were also treated to a delightful array of street dining options, courtesy of local food trucks and booths, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
“We hope that through these enjoyable activities, we can not only create a memorable day of bonding and learning for the entire community, but also highlight the beautiful backdrop of our lush green park. This reflects our enthusiasm towards promoting healthier life choices while reinforcing the importance of contributing to a greener future,” said Wan Esuriyanti Wan Ahmad, Head of IWK’s Corporate Communications.
Earlier in the day, as part of the festivities, IWK hosted a friendly futsal competition, the “Piala Futsal IWK” that brought together 16 teams from the local community. The players showcased their skills and teamwork, fostering a sense of friendship that echoed the day's celebration of unity and togetherness.
The activities also demonstrate the company’s efforts to enhance community well-being and cultivate a more environmentally conscious community. This initiative is deeply rooted in the core of the company's mission to preserve the country’s water resources, protect public health, as well as provide a cleaner, safer and more sustainable environment for all.
“We hope to inspire community members to take an active role towards a healthier and greener tomorrow. Together, we can stand as stewards of our communities and environment, safeguarding overall well-being and ensuring sustainability for generations to come,” Wan Esuriyanti concluded.
