Lotuss Stores Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia) is closing out 2022 with a bang by launching its 2K store at one of the largest and hottest lifestyle destinations in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia, Aman Central, bringing the total number of stores to 65 this year.

The opening of the store under the “Jiran Baru Anda” tagline aims to further bring Every Day SMART Delights to the neighbourhood community, not only by offering the best value for money, quality and wide selection of Lotus’s Own Brand products to its customers but also by becoming the heart of the community.

“Current retail trends show that consumers prefer to shop in smaller stores located nearer to their homes. Lotus’s stores will focus on time saving, increase value for money and the incorporation of technology such as self-check out counters and the Scan & Shop application.

We hope to bring SMART delights and convenience to our customers' shopping experience in Alor Setar and in other future locations,” said Lotus’s Malaysia President Kenneth Chuah.

The opening of Lotus’s Aman Central was also celebrated by multiple discounts, free samples, Baucar Ganda Ganda for My Lotus’s members, contests, and gifts such as free cotton candy, goodies bag worth RM20 with a minimum spending of RM50 from December 15 to December 18.

At the launch, Lotus’s Malaysia also introduced its newest addition to its digital payment platform, TrueMoney e-wallet at the launch of Aman Central. With this introduction, customers will enjoy promotions that will run through until the end of December 2023 that include:

  • Spend and Win feature, where customers who spend a minimum of RM50 will be eligible to win RM1,000 cashback each month; two random winners will be chosen.

  • Customers can also receive 50 My Lotus’s loyalty points for each purchase per month with a minimum monthly spending of RM50 per transaction.

  • As a bonus, My Lotus’s members who download and register the TrueMoney app will receive 100 My Lotus’s loyalty points.

Additionally, customers at Lotus’s stores will also receive an RM8 cashback every two transactions of a minimum RM38 spend per user from December 15, 2022, to January 31, 2023.

Kenneth also added that Aman Central is 100 percent manned by Malaysians, creating more employment for the community in the area. Lotus’s also offers employment opportunities for senior citizens and disabled people in their stores.

In keeping with the #KitakanJiran community spirit, Lotus’s Aman Central will continue with the brand’s commitment in addressing access to nutritious and healthy food via its collaboration with Kindness Malaysia (a local partner to the Food Aid Foundation) for its Food Surplus Programme.

The Food Surplus Programme involves all Lotus’s stores distributing safe and edible food items daily like bakery, vegetables and fruits through Lotus’s charity partners, the Food Aid Foundation and Kechara Soup Kitchen. The food items are then distributed to those in need in the neighbourhood community. To date, the retailer has successfully rescued approximately 2,368,785 kilograms, equivalent to more than 10 million meals of unsold but safe edible food, from going to landfills.
