As the Lunar New Year ushers in the Year of the Snake, symbolising transformation and renewal, IJM Seremban 2 reaffirms its commitment to community welfare with its annual tradition of giving back. This year, six deserving families in Seremban received a special gesture of support and care, reflecting the true spirit of togetherness and renewal during the festive season.
Through its annual Chinese New Year Charity Programme, IJM Seremban 2 provided each family with an angpow worth RM1,000 and essential groceries valued at RM600, offering both financial relief and essentials to ease their everyday struggles. These contributions aim to brighten the families' celebrations and help them navigate their challenges with renewed hope and a sense of community.
Datuk Chai Kian Soon, Chief Operating Officer of IJM Land Berhad asserted, “The Lunar New Year is a time of renewal, hope and togetherness. At IJM Seremban 2, we are truly honoured to extend our support to these underprivileged families, providing them with the optimism and courage they need during these challenging times. Our goal is to ease their burdens and bring a little extra joy to their festive celebrations.”
The six families supported by IJM Seremban 2 exemplify resilience in the face of adversity. Among them is 68-year-old Chin Sun Yin, a rubber tapper whose daughter, Chin Kwee San, helps support the family. Hong Mei Choon, aged 55, cares for her family of three, including her husband who has suffered a stroke. Lai Ai Tai, 45, works as an AEON promoter while tirelessly caring for her husband, who requires regular dialysis due to kidney disease.
Other recipients include Tham Yoke Yen, a 43-year-old single mother supporting her three children while recovering from financial hardship following her husband's abandonment. Wong Kah Sin, 48, works as an assistant in a ceramic tile factory, struggling with financial constraints due to prior debt. Loo Choo Wong, 61, who lives with his three daughters after his wife left 10 years ago and works part-time as a masseur to make ends meet.
Datuk Chai Kian Soon added, “At IJM Land, our Chinese New Year Charity Programme goes beyond providing immediate relief - it is about creating lasting change and inspiring hope. We are dedicated to building a future where no family is left behind, where the enduring spirit of togetherness and compassion continues to uplift lives, year after year.”
