With this new facility, Malaysian patients will now benefit from cutting-edge treatments and a holistic approach tailored to individual needs.
Cancer remains the fourth leading cause of death in Malaysia, with rising incidence rates, yet access to advanced cancer treatments remains a challenge. OncoCare Malaysia aims to bridge these gaps through collaborations with pharmaceutical companies to reduce treatment costs, offering groundbreaking therapies, and leveraging its partnership with Thomson Hospital to ensure affordability.
"Expanding into Malaysia is a proud moment for us. Partnering with Thomson Hospital allows us to extend innovative treatments and holistic support to Malaysian patients, ensuring the best possible outcomes," explained Dr. Tay Miah Hiang, Founder of OncoCare Cancer Centre Singapore.
OncoCare’s approach emphasises personalised and coordinated care through its multidisciplinary team. At the point of diagnosis, oncologists and specialists collaborate to design tailored treatment plans, with discussions often extending to experts in Singapore for additional insights.
"Today’s soft launch is a milestone as OncoCare brings its expertise to Malaysia. Our mission is to integrate innovative treatments with multidisciplinary care, shaping the future of oncology care in the region," shared Dr. John Low Seng Hooi, Chief Executive Officer and Senior Consultant Clinical Oncologist of OncoCare Cancer Centre Malaysia, highlighting the significance of the expansion.
The centre also leverages advanced technologies, such as AI-driven radiotherapy and next-generation diagnostics, to enhance accuracy and reduce recovery times. Regular tumour board meetings ensure complex cases are reviewed by specialists to provide evidence-based treatment strategies.

Currently undergoing remodelling to enhance the patient experience, the new centre is designed to incorporate state-of-the-art technology and a welcoming environment. Once completed, it will solidify its role as a regional hub for comprehensive cancer care.
