Kuala Lumpur, 12 NOVEMBER 2024 – In a concerted effort to support the future of Malaysia’s youth, LG Malaysia and MOG Eyewear have embarked on a transformative initiative to provide comprehensive eye health and vision screening for underprivileged children in three public schools and a PPR community in the Klang Valley. This collaborative effort, supported by Teach for Malaysia and Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur, aims to address a shared commitment to improving vision health and enhancing the quality of life for underprivileged children.
Eye health is fundamental to a child’s educational and developmental success, yet it often remains neglected in many underserved communities, especially where access to eye examinations or even affordable eyewears is limited. LG Malaysia and MOG Eyewear have united to bridge this gap by offering essential eye care services to those who need it most at key educational sites including PPR Lembah Subang 1, SJKC Kwong Hon, SJKC St. Teresa, and SK Segambut. Following these tests, LG Malaysia is contributing RM 20,000 worth of eyewear to support the students - demonstrating a strong commitment to addressing this crucial yet often overlooked aspect of well-being.
Justin Choi, Managing Director of LG Malaysia said, “At LG Electronics, our commitment to customer well-being extends beyond our products. For instance, our TVs are designed with advanced features to ensure eye comfort and safety, reflecting our dedication to protecting our customers’ health. Life’s good when we do good, and partnering with MOG Eyewear amplifies our mission that we are demonstrating true progress comes from combining technology with compassion.”
MOG Eyewear, renowned for its expertise in eye care, ensured that the children received the best possible eye examinations and corrective lenses. During the eye-health checks, MOG Eyewear conducted its comprehensive 6-in-1 eye examinations, meticulously assessing each student’s vision and identifying any potential problems. LG Malaysia further demonstrated its commitment to eye health through its Eyesafe® Certified LG OLED TVs which were displayed during the eye checks, which emit lower levels of blue light to reduce eye fatigue and sleep disturbances while maintaining exceptional image quality, aligning with LG’s broader mission to promote vision health.
Datin Bernice Low, Chief Executive Officer of MOG Eyewear said, “We are honoured to collaborate with LG Malaysia on this significant initiative. At MOG, we believe that eye health must start from a young age, as it plays a crucial role in a child’s overall well-being and future success. Through this initiative, we are addressing immediate vision care needs and investing in the long-term health of these children - making a meaningful difference in their lives and paving for a bright future.”
This impactful collaboration marks the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at furthering community welfare. LG Malaysia and MOG Eyewear are committed to continuing their partnership while exploring new opportunities to enhance the well-being of those in need.
