Kuala Lumpur, 14 October 2024 – Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia) has contributed a brand-new 4x4 Toyota Hilux ambulance to the Malaysia International Search and Rescue (MISAR), a social organisation focusing on relief efforts and safety, with the aim to enhance its emergency disaster response capabilities.
The aid was handed over by Allianz Malaysia Chief Executive Officer, Sean Wang, to MISAR Founder and President Captain K. Balasupramaniam at the MISAR Academy in Kuala Lumpur on 8 Oct 2024.
Equipped with the necessary medical tools, the new 4x4 ambulance is specifically designed to handle the unique challenges of Malaysia's rugged terrains and flood-prone regions, thus enabling MISAR to access to geographically-challenging locations.
This will facilitate MISAR’s search and rescue missions particularly during emergencies involving injured, sick, and pregnant patients stranded in remote areas. In addition, the ambulance will be used to transporting road accident victims in time of emergency.
“Our support of MISAR is rooted in our shared mission of providing timely and effective emergency response services, especially in times of crisis,” Sean said.
“The 4x4 ambulance contribution reflects Allianz Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities by ensuring that aid reaches those in need, no matter how challenging the circumstances,” he added.
The event featured a demonstration of MISAR’s multiple response approach, showcasing how the new 4x4 ambulance enhances its capability to respond to emergencies in challenging environments.
“We thank Allianz Malaysia for the contribution enabling MISAR to reach out to various locations, target beneficiaries and carry out impactful intervention” said Captain K. Balasupramaniam.
For more than a decade, Allianz Malaysia has supported various efforts of MISAR, from flood relief to the recent Public Flood Survival Programme including contribution of relief vehicles and containers to store relief supplies.
