The Taiwan Excellence Earth Month initiative has evolved from the virtual world to the real one, bringing a vibrant blend of online engagement and in-person activities.

Virtual Engagement and Physical Presence

The event kicked off with over 2,000 individuals actively participating in online environmental actions. Following this, the eco-friendly event held on September 1 at Kuala Lumpur Perdana Botanical Garden attracted more than 200 participants, who came together to promote ecological protection and sustainability.

With the slogan “One Good Habit, Love the Earth,” this global sustainable development initiative by Taiwan Excellence has made waves across the United States, the European Union, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The social media-driven campaign is designed to inspire an eco-conscious lifestyle by encouraging individuals to adopt small, yet impactful changes in their daily routines.

Inspiring Eco-Friendly Practices

The event in Malaysia began on July 15 and concluded on August 25. Over the course of 42 days, 3,313 photos were submitted, with enthusiastic netizens sharing their green practices, such as cutting down on plastic and paper usage, and using their own water bottles and shopping bags. Many participants posted daily for 21 days and left messages encouraging others to adopt eco-friendly habits. It's inspiring to witness so many people committed to living sustainably.

The Eco Fun Fair, held on September 1st at the Perdana Botanical Garden, exemplified Taiwan Excellence's ongoing dedication to sustainability. Kawan Guni, a recycling platform from Johor Baru, was invited to speak on waste sorting and recycling. Attendees also participated in a challenge game featuring plantable paper, which they could take home and plant in the soil to sprout plants.

Showcasing Innovative Green Products

Seven award-winning Taiwanese companies stole the show at the Fair, dazzling visitors with their innovative, eco-friendly products. Among the highlights were Paper Shoot’s environmentally friendly paper camera, RENOUVO’s compostable tableware crafted from sugarcane, Uplus’s sleek low-carbon tinted film, the world's smallest outdoor portable water purifier by Mbran Filtra, ADATA’s green PCR external hard drive, VAGO’s nifty miniature vacuum pump, and FECA’s versatile range of suction-cup lifestyle products. Attendees didn’t just see these products—they got hands-on with them, sparking fresh ideas on how to live greener every day.

Adding to the eco-vibe, RENOUVO’s cutlery was put to good use throughout the Fair and later collected for composting in a tree-planting event set for September 11th. In a heartwarming gesture of partnership and sustainability, Taiwan Excellence is teaming up with Seeds Malaysia to plant 50 trees at Al-Kadeem Academy in Shah Alam. This initiative symbolises growing cooperation between Malaysia and Taiwan, planting the seeds of sustainability for generations to come.
