Taiwan Excellence pioneers sustainability through artistry! For the first time, Taiwan Excellence partners with well-acclaimed Malaysian street artist Kenji Chai and SMK SS17 High School to craft a two-story tall campus mural, spreading the vital message of environmental stewardship.
Taiwan Excellence is set to participate in this year's ARCHIDEX under the theme "Greener Together," emphasising its ongoing dedication to sustainability. Alongside showcasing cutting-edge green building materials, Taiwan Excellence aims to engage with Malaysia's next generation by expanding its initiatives to local campuses.
Harmony in Art and Nature
Renowned artist Kenji Chai, alongside 10 students from SMK SS17, will collaborate on a mural depicting the Malayan tiger and Taiwan Excellence's Formosa Bear on a wall on campus. This artistic endeavor aims to translate sustainability principles into visually compelling art, promoting environmental conservation and enhancing spatial aesthetics.
Well known for his nature-inspired art, Kenji Chai intertwines sustainability with local Malaysian features in his latest mural. Featuring iconic native fauna like the proboscis monkey, the eagerly awaited artwork captures the essence of local biodiversity.
At the start of his work on June 19th, Kenji Chai explained that he wanted to express the spirit of 'cherishing' and 'courage' in this mural. He aims to inspire viewers to appreciate their surroundings and the environment. The intricate portrayal of the Malayan tiger symbolizes life's myriad challenges, urging individuals to tap into their inner strength to confront difficulties with unwavering courage and determination.
Cultivating Sustainability and Inclusion
SMK SS17 prioritises holistic education, providing inclusive special education classes and fostering a nurturing environment of inclusivity. The school is committed to cultivating environmental awareness among students, preparing them to become pillars of a sustainable future ecosystem. This partnership, spearheaded by Taiwan Excellence, transcends boundaries and holds profound significance for all participants.
The large mural, towering 20 feet high and spanning 26 feet wide, is expected to be completed within a week by the end of June. For those unable to view it firsthand, the artwork will be showcased at the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at ARCHIDEX 2024 (Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Hall 2, Booth 2L180) from July 3 to 6. Taiwan Excellence will showcase a robust lineup of 11 award-winning brands that champion the green movement in our daily lives. These brands exemplify the 'Best Made in Taiwan' promise, setting new standards for sustainability.
