KUALA LUMPUR, 31 May – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) is proud to announce that its Group CEO, Thomas Mathew, has received the Productivity Champion (Leader) award from the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC). This accolade was presented at the Productivity Excellence Recognition Ceremony, held in conjunction with the 66th Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) governing body meeting (GBM), which included representatives from 20 member economies.
The Productivity Champion award, presented on stage by Datuk Kamaruzzaman Johari, Chairman of MPC, recognises TalentCorp's significant contributions to national productivity improvement through the successful implementation of projects under the Technical Working Group Human Capital (TWGHC).
In congratulating TalentCorp on their achievement, YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of Human Resources (KESUMA), emphasized that this recognition sets a model example for everyone in the ministry and its agencies to maintaining full productivity and continually seeking innovative solutions to enhance their services.
"TalentCorp has launched several initiatives to make doing business in Malaysia easier. This is important because it helps businesses feel confident and secure, knowing that the processes in place are designed to support their operations. These efforts contribute to the country's economic stability, with policies and initiatives that position Malaysia as a preferred destination for investment, business, and trade,” he said.
The award highlights the success of the working relationship between TalentCorp, the MPC, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Immigration Department of Malaysia in driving initiatives for Malaysia to be a business-friendly nation. Recent innovations include the establishment of the single window Xpats Gateway platform through PEMUDAH, centralising 26 agencies into one platform for more efficient business processing for expatriate management. Other initiatives include the On-line endorsement and on-line payment for expatriate-related matters, the delivery of endorsed pass for approved expatriates, and the setting up of the Expatriate Satellite Centre (ESC) at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 to facilitate immediate pass issuance.
These efforts and innovations are projected to have saved Malaysian companies a total of RM300 million from November 2021 until now.
