KUALA LUMPUR, 25 May 2024 – The Malaysia Top E-Commerce Merchant Awards (Top ECM) 2024, now in its prestigious ninth edition, culminated in a grand ceremony, marking yet another milestone in Malaysia’s thriving e-commerce landscape. This renowned event celebrated the remarkable innovations and sales achievements of local e-commerce entrepreneurs.

In a record-setting year, the Top ECM Awards witnessed an exceptional increase in total sales, reaching an impressive Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) of RM109,189,877.00 with a total of 2,383,904 orders. This year, 516 merchants were shortlisted, marking a significant increase from the 360 participants in 2023. This 43.3% growth highlights the considerable economic impact of the event on the national e-commerce landscape. These merchants underwent rigorous evaluation based on sales performance, business potential, and marketing innovation by a panel of respected judges from the e-commerce industry.

"The Top ECM Awards are not just about recognising today's successes; they are a launching pad for tomorrow's e-commerce leaders," said Yong Kai Ping, CEO of Sidec. "Through this platform, we aim to inspire, educate, and elevate the standards of e-commerce practices across Malaysia."

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Puan Hajah Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, and Yang Berhormat Najwan Halimi, Selangor State Executive Council (EXCO) member for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneurship. Their insights into the growth and challenges of the digital economy underscored the national significance of e-commerce development and the government's support for digital entrepreneurship.

This year's winners were honored not only with cash prizes but also with trophies and certificates, acknowledging their hard work and success. The event highlighted the crucial role of digital platforms in achieving business success and the importance of innovative marketing in reaching broad audiences.
