KPJ Healthcare and Marriott International Unite for Superior Patient Care

In a significant milestone in the healthcare and hospitality sectors, KPJ Healthcare Berhad ("KPJ Healthcare" or the "Group") and Marriott International in Indonesia and Malaysia (“Marriott”), forged a unique partnership to elevate the standard of care offered to patients and guests alike through a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) signed at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place in Indonesia today.

The alliance between KPJ Healthcare, the largest network of healthcare provider in Malaysia, and Marriott, a global leader in hospitality, promises a seamless integration of KPJ Healthcare's medical excellence with the luxurious comfort provided by Marriott, incorporating the expertise, standards and best practices from the hospitality sector into healthcare services.

This partnership will also entail enriching Marriott's associates with the knowledge and capabilities to manage medical emergencies onsite, particularly concerning guests to ensure they receive exceptional standards of care and comfort throughout their stay at Marriott Bonvoy Portfolio of Hotels and Resorts throughout Indonesia and Malaysia. 

Marriott International currently operates 110 hotels and resorts across Indonesia and Malaysia, with 21 out of over 30 of its global brands.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both KPJ Healthcare and Marriott, showcasing the depth of this partnership including Chin Keat Chyuan, President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare; Sherene Azli, Chief Marketing Officer of KPJ Healthcare; and Ramesh Jackson, Area Vice President Indonesia & Malaysia, Marriott International. 

Chin Keat Chyuan, said. “By leveraging Marriott's vast experience in delivering exceptional guest experiences, the Group is committed to creating an environment that prioritises patient well-being, satisfaction and recovery, setting new benchmarks in healthcare service delivery and patient-centric care”. 

Ramesh Jackson commented "We are thrilled to embark on this journey with KPJ Healthcare. This collaboration not only underscores our shared commitment to excellence but also represents a perfect blend of empathy and service, where comfort meets care to elevate our guests’ experience further."

“This partnership also aims to elevate the experience for KPJ Healthcare’s many medical tourists who seek treatment at KPJ specialist hospitals, positioning the Group as a visionary leader in the region's medical tourism landscape. By seamlessly blending medical excellence with first-class patient care, we are crafting an environment where health outcomes and patient satisfaction are maximised, showcasing our commitment to advancing healthcare and enhancing patient experience throughout the region,” Chin concluded.

Following the MoU signing, the Group will also launch its first-ever KPJ Healthcare Expo 2024 (“KPJHX 2024”) in Jakarta, which will be held from 16 to 19 May 2024 with Marriott as a hospitality partner. 

This MoU comes at a pivotal moment for KPJ Healthcare as the Group seeks to enhance innovation and excellence in the Malaysian Health Tourism market, underscoring KPJ Healthcare's commitment to elevate the medical tourism experience for both local and international patients.
