Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) proudly announced the inaugural international tyre exhibition, TyreXpo Asia 2024, attended by manufacturers and traders across the regions. This grand event, presided by Captain Thamanat Prompow, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is being held for the first time in Thailand at Event Hall 98, Bitec Bangna from May 15 to 17, 2024, where Greenergy Tyre, a new tyre brand, is being launched under the concept of "Driving Every Life towards Sustainability".

Capt. Thamanat highlighted that over the past years Thailand's tyre market has flourished in response to market needs. The Thai government has actively supported tyre industry and focused on increasing opportunities via applying the approach to building more tyre factories, initiating measures to stimulate investment, including giving priority to research and development. The timely TyreXpo Asia 2024 will help drive the tyre industry forward in the same direction. In early 2024, the government issued the title documents for cash crop trees, such as rubber trees, to secure their presence in various regions. This initiative aims to expand opportunities for farmers to access arable land, allowing them to convert properties into capital for rubber plantations. This effort is poised to elevate Thailand as a global producer of rubber raw materials, ensuring a balanced supply chain for the future growth of the Thai rubber industry.

"Today's rubber industry is moving forward with great potential. Thailand have many well-known tyre manufacturers recognized in the global market. We are incorporating modern technologies and innovations with a focus on sustainability, aligning with the European Union Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR). This event is regarded as a crucial step that creates new opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to maintain leadership and efficiency in meeting tyre demand expected to be increasing. It also serves as an important mechanism for environmental protection in the future. This is a collective effort we are all moving forward together," added the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Mr. Nakorn Tangavirapat, Governor of the Rubber Authority of Thailand, emphasized, "As a central organization dedicated to managing the entire Thai rubber system sustainably as well as being committed to manage resources responsibly, we realize that the significance of creating a balance between economic growth and environmental care. We are also committed to promoting and improving Thai rubber farmers' potential, rubber farmer institutes, and entrepreneurs involved in the rubber industry to raise the quality of rubber products to meet international standards. This effort will lead to increased income and an improved quality of life, driving us towards sustainability." Consequently, the TyreXpo Asia 2024 event will serve as a platform for cooperation and opportunity for the development of the Thai rubber industry. With innovation and advancements in tyre technology, it is essential to propel economic growth and development.

"This international tyre expo paves an important path to upgrade the Thai rubber industry, enabling it to produce products that meet market needs. This initiative will expand Thailand's rubber supply chain from upstream to downstream, creating a trade advantage as a front leader among the world’s tyre industry.” Mr. Nakorn remarked.

The Governor of the RAOT added that the introduction of the "Greenergy Tyre" brand reinforces the availability of Thai natural rubber raw materials, exceeding 4 million tons annually. These rubber raw materials, processed into tyres, undergo traceability measures to ensure they are sourced responsibly, without encroaching on forest areas. The production process commences with the procurement of latex raw materials from registered farmers or rubber farmers' institutes within the Rubber Authority of Thailand system. These materials are traded through eight rubber central markets and five hundred network markets. Subsequently, the raw materials are processed into block rubbers (STR) and sent to Greenergy Tyre factories. Every stage of the trading and forwarding process can be traced back to its origin, ensuring product transparency and adherence to internationally accepted standards. The official launch of Greenergy Tyre marks its availability for purchase, attracting interest from entrepreneurs seeking tyres and raw materials for the tyre industry. The total value of these transactions exceeds 40 million baht.

Mr. Patrapee Chinachoti, Co-Chairman of Informa Markets Thailand, highlighted that "TyreXpo Asia 2024", debuting in Thailand for the first time, revolves around the theme "Your One-Stop Show for Tyres, Automotive Repair & Maintenance, and Tyre Accessories." The event hosts over 250 leading brands in the tyre and related industries, with 90 companies participating in the exhibition. International conferences on retreading knowledge and innovation, alongside Tyre Business Forums, offer valuable insights for formulating strategies and seizing business opportunities, benefitting Thai entrepreneurs in the long term. It stands out as a comprehensive event uniting entrepreneurs, buyers, sellers, and partners within the tyre industry network. The overarching goal is to leverage these opportunities to "connect the supply chains of rubber industry groups worldwide," fostering business networks with Thailand at the center.
