In commemoration of 40 years of championing women's empowerment, The Body Shop Malaysia proudly unveiled its International Women's Day event, "Ride to Empower." This unique and impactful initiative not only celebrates the brand's four decades of commitment to women's rights but also addresses a crucial societal issue – women's safety in public spaces, at home, and in the workplace.

About 100 participants embarked on a symbolic journey, riding the MRT Kajang Line train together to mark The Body Shop Malaysia's 40-year legacy of empowering women from Kwasa Damansara MRT station to TRX station.

The campaign aims to spark conversations and raise awareness about the importance of women's safety, fostering a sense of empowerment in public spaces, at home, and within the workplace alongside NGO partners Women’s aid Organisation and SPOT Community Programme.

“Empowering women has been at the core of The Body Shop Malaysia's values for the past 40 years. As we celebrate this milestone, 'Ride to Empower' is not just a commemorative event that aims to advocate for women’s safety in all spaces, it is symbolic of our right of CHOICE to go wherever and however we want. We believe in a world where women are safe, confident, and empowered. As a brand, we continue to walk the talk that businesses can be a force for good," shared Datin Mina Cheah-Foong, Managing Director, The Body Shop Malaysia.

“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to The Body Shop Malaysia for their impactful 'Ride to Empower' event, commemorating 40 years of dedicated support for women's empowerment. Let this campaign serve as a catalyst for meaningful change and inspire collective action towards creating a safer and more inclusive world for all women,” Siti Aishah, founder SPOT Community Programme.

Participants joining the the Ride to Empower disembarked at TRX station and headed to The Body Shop Malaysia’s newest store at The Exchange, TRX to continue the celebration.

Following the Ride to Empower event, The Body Shop alongside WAO and SPOT will be organising workshops to further create awareness on creating safe spaces for women and girls.
