With the rising cases of data leak and violation that could result in huge losses to the citizens, it is an indisputable fact that our current PDPA law is flawed.
Malaysia must adopt a comprehensive national cybersecurity policy and implement tougher cybersecurity laws to protect the nation from both internal and external cyber-attacks. This should include the protection of all Internet users’ personal data. Don’t miss out the pilot episode of GenZ @ The Podium that will be held on the 29th April 2023 whereby 20 youths will be debating on the topic titled Amendment of Privacy Data Protection Act along with 2 politicians.

This event also aims to signify that youths are capable of leading a well rounded discussion on serious topics including the topic personal data protection. The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 was enacted to protect the privacy of individuals and regulate the processing of personal data in Malaysia. However, with technological advancements and the increasing use of personal data by companies and organisations, there is a need to review and amend the existing legislation.
The debate will provide a platform for young people to voice their opinions on this important issue and engage in meaningful dialogue with policymakers. The event is an opportunity for youth debaters to showcase their skills and knowledge on critical issues affecting their lives.
The use of a 3D environment is a first for a debate in Malaysia, and it is hoped that it will provide an innovative and engaging experience for the participants and audience. The event will be live-streamed on various social media platforms, allowing a wider audience to join the discussion.
